1. Introduction

Welcome to Daily Goals ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding data collection and usage when you use the Daily Goals mobile application (the "App").

By using the Daily Goals app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our App.

2. Information We Collect

Daily Goals collects the following types of information to provide and improve our services:

2.1 Account Information

• Email Address: We collect your email address when you create an account. This is used for authentication, account management, and communication purposes.
• User ID: We generate a unique user identifier to associate your account with your data and ensure secure access to your information.

2.2 Goals Data

• Goal Text: The content of your daily goals that you create in the app.
• Completion Status: Whether goals are completed or in progress.
• Dates: The dates associated with your goals.
• Progress Information: Progress percentages (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) for your goals.
• Streak Data: Information about your goal completion streaks.
• Timestamps: When goals were created, updated, and completed.

2.3 App Usage Data

• Local Settings: App preferences and settings stored locally on your device (e.g., theme preferences, display settings).
• Session Information: Authentication tokens and session data necessary for app functionality.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• To create and manage your user account
• To store, retrieve, and display your daily goals
• To track your goal completion and progress
• To calculate and display streak information
• To synchronize your data across devices
• To maintain your app preferences and settings

3.2 Account Management

• To authenticate your identity when you sign in
• To secure your account and prevent unauthorized access
• To manage your account settings and preferences

4. How We Store Your Information

4.1 Cloud Storage (Supabase)

Your account information and goals data are stored securely in our cloud database hosted by Supabase. This includes:

• Email addresses and user IDs
• All goals data (text, completion status, dates, progress, streaks)
• Account creation and update timestamps

Supabase provides enterprise-grade security with encryption at rest and in transit. Your data is protected by Row Level Security (RLS) policies that ensure only you can access your own data.

4.2 Local Storage (Your Device)

Some information is stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms:

• Authentication tokens (encrypted)
• App settings and preferences

This local storage is necessary for app functionality and to maintain your session when you reopen the app.

4.3 Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information:

• Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
• Encryption of sensitive data at rest
• Row Level Security (RLS) policies to restrict data access
• Secure authentication and session management
• Regular security assessments and updates

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

5.1 Service Providers

We use Supabase as our backend service provider to store and manage your data. Supabase is contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purpose of providing services to us.

5.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to:

• Comply with legal obligations
• Protect and defend our rights or property
• Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing
• Protect the personal safety of users or the public

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services.

6.1 Account Data

Your account information (email address, user ID) and all goals data are stored in our cloud database (Supabase) and are retained until you delete your account. When you delete your account:

• All your goals data is permanently deleted from our database
• Your account information is removed from our systems
• This deletion is permanent and cannot be undone

6.2 Local Data

Data stored locally on your device (authentication tokens, app settings) is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app. You can also clear this data manually through your device settings.

6.3 Backup and Recovery

We do not maintain separate backups of your personal data. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered. We may retain certain information if required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention), but this will be limited to what is necessary and will be deleted when no longer required.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

7.1 Access

You can access all of your personal information, including your goals data, directly through the app. You can view, edit, and manage your goals at any time.

7.2 Correction

You can update or correct your information at any time through the app settings or by editing your goals directly in the app.

7.3 Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. To delete your account:

• Go to Settings in the app
• Select "Delete Account" or similar option
• Confirm the deletion

Alternatively, you can contact us directly to request account deletion (see Contact Information below).

7.4 Data Portability

You can export your goals data through the app's settings or by contacting us to request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.

7.5 Withdrawal of Consent

You can withdraw your consent to data processing at any time by deleting your account. Note that withdrawing consent may affect your ability to use the app.

8. Children's Privacy

Daily Goals is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. By using the app, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
• Notifying you through the app (if significant changes occur)

11. Third-Party Services

Our app uses the following third-party services and SDKs:

11.1 Expo

Daily Goals is built using Expo, a React Native framework. Expo may collect anonymous crash reports and performance data to improve the platform. This data is not linked to you personally and does not include your personal information or goals data. For more information, see Expo's Privacy Policy.

11.2 Supabase

We use Supabase for authentication, database storage, and backend services. Supabase's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy. For more information, please visit: https://supabase.com/privacy

11.3 Apple App Store

If you download the app through the Apple App Store, your use of the app is also subject to Apple's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Subscription payments (if applicable) are processed by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information. See Apple's Privacy Policy for information on how Apple handles payment data.

Daily Goals does not use any analytics services, tracking technologies, or advertising networks. We do not collect usage statistics, user behavior data, or any analytics information about how you use the app.

We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or similar tracking technologies. We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.

The app does not participate in Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework because we do not track users across apps or websites.

13. Purchases and Subscriptions

Daily Goals may offer in-app subscriptions and purchases managed through the Apple App Store. If you make a purchase:

• Payment Processing: All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information, credit card details, or billing address.
• Subscription Management: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in your App Store account settings.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. Please contact Apple Support for refund inquiries.
• Data Collection: We do not collect any additional information as a result of your purchase. Your subscription status is managed by Apple and is not linked to your personal goals data.
